In this conference, scholars, technologists, and businesspeople made a successful attempt to establish a set of guidelines that govern the proper use of computers. Ramon Barquin came forward with the widely publicized and much used Ten Commandments of Computer Ethics. Others strived to develop ethical standards for computing professionals, software quality, government resource allocations, national security, computer modeling and simulation, and privacy issues.
