“. . . the moral character of the computing profession lies primarily in the hands of those who teach computer ethics. Their challenge is to develop computer professionals who are morally competent as well as technically competent. Unfortunately, the development of moral competence is an elusive task which often consists of simply raising the awareness of students on ethical issues in computing. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a pedagogical approach that goes beyond raising awareness and focuses on the development of moral judgement.”
