This is a short paper discussing the various meanings of privacy and the lack of a coherent understanding of the term. When people are discussing privacy it is most likely that the terms being used mean radically different things for the parties involved. Hence, Catudal makes a call for philosophers to step in and resolve this problem and establish a coherent conception of privacy. “I believe philosophers have an important role to play in clarifying the bewitching concept of privacy as it relates to computer technologies and the ethical problems associated with it.”
